Working with people over the age of 65 years of age.

Shirley has extensive clinical practice working with people over the age of 65. She recognizes problems don't go away just because people age. Often concerns have moved away from the drives of youth i.e. finding a partner, building a home, having children and forging a career to adjusting physically and mentally adapting to ageing.. As well as everyday problems, there are different concerns. There may be the loss of a life partner, siblings and/or close friends. A need to 'tell their story' and to make meaning of their lives; to think about existential issues of their life, death and spirituality. The hope is to help people to live fully and peacefully in the years that are left to them.
